28 March 2022

Dear CDWS members,
Reference to announcement #82,  https://cdws.travel/news/announcement-82
Please be informed that the seismic surveying operations will continue in the Red Sea throughout the months of January and February 2022. The surveying vessel will be approaching the following areas of the Brothers, Daedalus, Quseir, Elphinstone, and Marsa Allam, as seen in the attached map between 4 PM and 6 AM at a distance of 40Km from dive sites.
The majority of the surveying will occur during the 4 PM to 6 AM timeframe; in the case where the surveying happens between 10 AM and 4 PM or approaches a distance closer than 40Km, we shall notify you ahead of time. We ask our concerned members to not conduct any form of diving activities in the affected locations during the given timeframe and reroute their trips to different locations to avoid any injuries to the divers.
In the case divers are in the water during the surveying time, divers might experience a noise similar to a piling hammer and/or a low-frequency rumble. If any loud unusual noises that make divers uncomfortable are heard underwater, while the vessel is in close proximity to the concerned areas, please immediately notify the surveying ship M/V PXGEO2 call sign C6EY9 on the VHF channel: 16 or 72 or on their VSAT phone number: +1 95 46 726 901. We ask that you provide your exact location and timing of the occurrence when you contact the vessel. For any inquiries or complaints or incidents, kindly e-mail [email protected].
Regards,
The Chamber of Diving and Water Sports
