We are proud to announce the return of the single-use plastic ban! We encourage our members to switch to reusable or biodegradable single-use cups, straws, cutlery, diving and snorkeling equipment covers to minimize the use of plastic in our sector and reduce plastic ocean pollution. The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities recently announced the ban of single-use plastics to support sustainability in the tourism sector ahead of the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh. The ban on single-use plastics is to be applied immediately to all members throughout Egypt with the possibility of penalties to be issued for using single-use plastics.
