Egypt – August 9, 2023 - As part of Egypt’s strategy for digital transformation, the Chamber of Diving and Water Sports (CDWS) and the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities launched the official version of the Trip Notification Application in July 2023.
The application allows the safari and diving and water sports operators to obtain the required notification for carrying out diving and water sports activities in the Red Sea. This can be done online in quick and easy steps, in accordance with the requirements of the relevant authorities.
The Application also provides valuable information and statistics, including data of the trips and activities, the nationalities and age groups of the tourists and practitioners, and the most visited dive sites. This data can be used to support decision-making toward achieving the United Nations 2030 sustainable development goals (SDGs).
By analyzing the data and information provided by the application, the CDWS will enhance and develop the diving and water sports industry in Egypt. This includes raising the safety standards of the services provided by the operators, controlling and fighting illegal entities, providing training, and creating new job opportunities.
The application will also help in obtaining essential information that will directly affect and achieve the protection and preservation of the marine environment in the Red Sea. This data will significantly help in achieving sustainable tourism in Egypt.
The Trip Notification Application is a significant advancement for the diving and water sports industry in Egypt. The CDWS is constantly developing and improving the services it provides to the sector in order to keep Egypt a leading tourist destination.
