About the Job:

As an Environmental Coordinator, you will oversee all activities within the environmental department and manage the development and implementation of environmental policies and programs in accordance with CDWS environmental standards. Your role will also involve creating, implementing, and monitoring environmental strategies and initiatives to promote sustainable development.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement environmental frameworks, strategies, policies, and practices.
  • Conduct Green Fins audits and assessments.
  • Identify and resolve environmental issues, ensuring necessary changes and actions are effectively implemented.
  • Ensure compliance with Egyptian environmental laws and regulations, as well as CDWS environmental standards.
  • Assess, analyze, and collect environmental performance data, reporting findings to internal departments, CDWS members, and relevant entities.
  • Develop and deliver environmental training programs at all levels, raising awareness about environmental issues using creative and effective approaches.
  • Report and investigate environmental violations, liaising with regulatory bodies as necessary.
  • Create and deliver environmental presentations as needed.
  • Plan and execute cleanup initiatives, including beach and underwater cleanups, coordinating with members and relevant authorities.
  • Stay up to date with changes in environmental legislation and initiatives, including international regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; additional qualifications are a plus.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in relevant fields.
  • Certification as a diver is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental policies, laws, and management systems.
  • Passionate about protecting the marine environment.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create visually compelling presentations.
  • Strong multitasking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel as required by the job.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in both English and Arabic is required, as well as excellent spoken and written communication skills.
