Environmental Awareness Courses for Safari Boat Crew
In the efforts of developing the human resources in the diving and water sports sector, the CDWS in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiques and the Egyptian Tourism Federation (ETF) have decided to start implementing urgent training courses to raise awareness of 1500 safari boat crews. The safari boat crew’s environmental awareness courses launched in February 2019 in Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada.
This course is designed to raise the necessary awareness of the safari boat crews (Marine, mechanical, Asst. mechanical, chefs … etc.). to follow the best practices to preserve the marine environment, and to educate them with the correct behaviors and the knowledge to organize their work.
Application requirements:
- This course is eligible for the CDWS members only who are licensed by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiques. Application for this course is done by the owner, the representative of the owner, or the technical manager in charge only (the boat crew cannot apply for themselves).
- The fee for the training program is 300 EGP per person, (To be paid online, please review the attachment to know the steps for online payment)
- To apply your staff please fill the attached excel sheet with the needed information and resend it to [email protected], in case any information is missing the application will not be considered.
- One PDF file should be attached along with the excel sheet with all the participant’s national ID’s (who are listed in the excel sheet) (front and back)
- In case of any amendments in the list of participants who will be attending the course, the technical manager needs to highlight the edits and resubmit the application.
- The CDWS will review the accuracy of the received data, in case of not providing national IDs that match the list of participants listed in the excel sheet, the staff shall not be registered in the course.
Course Rules and Regulations:
- Please show up 45 minutes before the start of the session to confirm your registration with your national ID card.
- In case of absence, participation in the training shall be canceled.
- In case the applicants do not wish to participate in the training program for any reason, they should report to the training department at least 48 hours before the beginning of training so the fees can be refunded or moved over for another date, if they fail to report within this time frame there will be no refund for the training fees.
- No mobile phones are allowed during the training, please put it on silent mode and hand it to the lecturer
- The lecturer has the right to cancel the trainee's participation in the course in case of not complying with the lecturer’s instructions
- It is not allowed to leave the training for any reason
- No Smoking allowed inside the training room
- No food or drinks are allowed inside the training room during the course except for water
- Adhering and applying the COVID-19 preventive measures.
After course instructions:
- After the completion of the course, the owner, the representative of the owner, or the technical manager has to contact the CDWS membership department to issue the CDWS ID cards for their crew members with the fees of 150 EGP per participant.
- The annual renewal fee for the CDWS ID cards for the safari boat crew is 150 EGP per member.
- Attending the course and issuing the CDWS ID card is a must to be able to get hired to work on a safari boat
- The CDWS, the MOT, and the relevant security authorities shall not allow any boat to sail without confirming that all the crew members have their CDWS ID cards.
- The boat crew should make sure that the boat they are working on is licensed by the Ministry of Tourism.
- In any case of any violations, the violators will be subject to penalties and suspension.
