I scuba dive since 1965 and studied medicine at Cairo University, and specialized in Diving- and Hyperbaric Medicine in the USA and Germany. PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) since August 1983, the first ITC (Instructor Training Course) to be held in Egypt. Then Master Scuba Diver Trainer.
The first Egyptian to be inducted into the 'International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame' in October 2019 in acknowledgment of advancing the field of Diving Medicine and making diving safer.

Received the Consultant degree from the GTUEM (Gesellschaft fuer Tauch- und Ueberdruckmedizin) in Germany in 2005. Lecturer and Course Director for all the EDTC (European Diving Technology Committee) and ECHM (European Committee for Hyperbaric Medicine) courses all over Europe.
