1- The 30/9/2008 is the deadline date for all dive centers to have their own 60 tanks of 12 liters or 80 cft .

2- The 30/9/2008 is the deadline date for all dive centers to have their own compressor(s) with a capacity of at least 250 liters/minute.

3- The 31/12/2008 is the deadline date for dive centers & safari boats to have an insurance policy covering third party liability.

4- It is highly recommended to fit an operating hours' meter on compressors in dive centers and onboard safari boats in order to monitor the working hours and maintenance record.

5- It is highly recommended to have a VHF Radio if you are operating boats.

6- A medical statement/certificate stating the applicant medical condition as used for training courses is required to apply for CDWS professional ID card.

7- H. E. The Minister has agreed to CDWS request to extend the deadline period granted to Safari boats to obtain the technical validity certificate from CDWS and obtain the MOT license till October 30th, 2008.

8- H. E. The Minister has agreed to CDWS request to extend the deadline period granted to Water Sports centers to obtain the technical validity certificate from CDWS and obtain the MOT license till January 2nd 2009

Please note that this will be the last time to be granted such an extension.

9 – H. E. The Governor of South Sinai issued a decree that air and gases filling stations for diving MUST have an approval (Technical Validity Certificate) from CDWS to be licensed.

CDWS technical committee will proceed - according to the boards approved procedures - to inspect, monitor and certify filling stations. The deadline for filling station to comply with standards and regulations is October 30, 2008

10- H. E. The Minister issued a decree to stop illegal dive operations in South Sinai and H. E. the Governor confirmed it by a local decree. The list (prepared by CDWS and MOT) included 18 non licensed illegal operations. The Governor formed a special committee (that included representatives from the governorate, the police, the tourism department, the cdws and others) and executed the shutdown of these illegal operations in both Sharm and Dahab. This positive, first time, and long waited for historical move will protect the business of our members (legal licensed operations), insure quality services and will protect our clients and the tourism industry in Egypt.
