The well established town of Hurghada has always been considered a paradise for windsurfers, but with the growing popularity of kitesurfing here many kiters found spots with perfect conditions for this new water sport.
The area south of Hurghada in particular has some nice bays, with long beaches and a sandy bottom where you can easily practice cruising, jumping and freestyle.
A couple of bays are protected from high waves by extensive offshore sandbanks, thus creating great kitesurfing conditions.
The wind blows almost always side onshore from the left, with an average speed of 4 – 7 Bft from April to October and with 3 – 4 Bft from November to March.
