  • Q.1 | Does my business have to have an audit in order to become a member?
    • Yes all diving and water sports centres and boats must undergo an audit, a process that is now mandatory in Egypt.

  • Q.2 | How will my audit take place?
    • The membership department will pass your request for an audit to the technical department who will then organise an inspector to liaise with your technical manager to arrange an appointment time for the audit to take place.

  • Q.3 | What papers do I need for the audit process?
    • Your technical manager will need to submit original papers and copies of the items listed below to the Membership Department. Once these are submitted you need to fill out an Audit Request Sheet with the membership department.

      • Existing MoT license (if applicable)
      • Commercial register papers
      • Tax book belonging to the business.
      • Contract between the business and its current premises

  • Q.4 | How long does the audit process take?
    • We cannot guarantee an exact time taken for this process to be complete. It depends on the time taken to meet all the requirements needed to pass your audit. We would advise the audit process should take between 2 – 4 days as a guideline.

  • Q.5 | What can I expect to happen during an audit?
    • The inspector will conduct a technical inspection and ISO inspection using the form EN/ISO certification scheme papers (click here) during the audit process. These papers ensure all areas are access correctly and meet the required standards. To help you understand the certification scheme sheet we recommend you download the ISO review sheet to help prepare your business for the audit (click here) You will receive copies of the certification scheme papers at the end of the audit.

      IMPORTANT: Your technical manager must be present at the time of the audit, by law only the technical manager can work with the inspector to complete the audit.

  • Q.6 | Is there a brief summary what will be reviewed for the audit?
    • During the audit the inspectors will be accessing the following areas:

      • Services on offer
      • Documentation
      • Premises
      • Equipment
      • Files
      • Employee information
  • Q.7 | How long does the Ministry of Tourism license last for?
    • The license will be valid for 1 year. Some businesses may apply for a license that is valid for up to 3 years and for this certain criteria will apply.

  • Q.8 | Will the inspector issue me with my technical validity certificate straight after the audit?
    • No, the Inspector will take away the completed papers to file. Please contact the office to know when your Technical validity certificate (TVC) is ready. Also a request for your ISO certificate will be sent to the Austrian Institute of Norms.  The Austrian Institute of Norms will send the ISO certificate to our office. We will notify you when it has been delivered so you can arrange collection.

  • Q.9 | Will I have the chance to review the performance of my audit?
    • Yes your technical manager will be given an Audit Evaluation Sheet with a list of questions that focuses on the audits performance and to give us feedback from the members regarding the auditing system, as well as the attitude and behavior of your inspector.

  • Q.10 | What do I do to organise a re-audit for the following year?
    • Once your current membership is coming to an end your technical manager will need to submit an audit request sheet to our membership department to schedule an audit the earlier the better. Reminders will be sent to members via our newsletters.

  • Q.11 | What happens if my audit has finished there are areas that do not meet the required standard?
    • The inspector will advise you about what you will need to do to comply with the set standards. Your technical manager will then be given time to address this matter and a re-visit will be scheduled with the inspector. The inspector will review the changes and ensure your business has complied with the standards required to complete the audit process.

  • Q.12 | What do I do if my business has changed premises since my last audit?
    • You will need to advise the membership department of the change in address as soon as possible. This change will affect your current license. In the event of this happening it may not affect your ISO inspection but it will affect your previous technical inspection. So an inspector may need to visit and revise your technical inspection to comply with the current standards.

  • Q.13 | What do I do if my safari boat has changed location or has been modified since its last audit?
    • You will need to advise the membership department of the change in address as soon as possible. This change will affect your current license. In the event of this happening it may not affect your ISO inspection but it will affect your previous technical inspection. So an inspector may need to visit and revise your technical inspection to comply with the current standards.

  • Q.14 | How do I give notification of any changes happening during the period of my membership?
    • You will need to advise the membership department of changes that affect your business as soon as possible, then the membership department can advise you if this affects your MoT license and if you need to take any further actions.

  • Q.15 | I work in the diving or watersports industry for a member of CDWS - am I required to carry a CDWS card?
    • Yes, if you are a diving professional or work within a facility offering diving or watersports services you are required to carry a CDWS pro card.
